Ethiopia's Prime  Minister Abiy Ahmed met and discussed with senior TPLF officials for the first time after two years.

This happened three months after the signing of a peace agreement between the federal government and Tigray forces that ended the bloody war.

The image and video released with this news released by the state media showed the Prime Minister, along with his top political and military officials, discussing with the TPLF delegation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekon, Federation Council Speaker Adam Farah, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, his National Security Adviser Ambassador Redwan Hussain, Defense Minister Abraham Bai (Dr.) and others participated in the discussion.

On the Tigray side, Ato Getachew Reda, General Tsadqan Gebre Tensai, Lt. General Tadese Nawade, Ambassador Wendemu Asamnew and others were present.

Ambassador Redwan Hussain, the Prime Minister's National Security Adviser, said on his Twitter page that a discussion was held with TPLF representatives about the process of implementing the peace agreement.

In addition, to strengthen the trust between the two parties and to ease the problems of the people, they have decided to increase the number of flights to Tigray, as well as regarding banking and other issues.

The top officials of the federal government and the TPLF, including the prime minister, met for the first time outside Addis Ababa at a place called Halala Kela, which is being built in the southern region.

In order to stop the war, the federal government and the TPLF first negotiated in Pretoria, South Africa, and then twice in Nairobi, Kenya, through the mediation of the African Union.

Officials of both sides told the government media that their discussion was about the implementation of the matters set out in the agreement and an evaluation of the activities to be carried out in the future.

In the last three months, it is known that humanitarian aid has been provided without limits, basic services, TPLF fighters have been disarmed and forces other than the Defense Forces have started to leave Tigray.
